Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable to the Flying Operations Post Holder (FOPH) for the secure and effective execution of Uncrewed Air System flight operations across various Falcon Works programmes.
- Offer Suitably Qualified Experienced Personnel (SQEP) guidance to the FOPH and project teams.
- Actively engage in the trials risk assessment process for assigned UAS aircraft trials, ensuring that risks are communicated to the FOPH when necessary.
- Responsible for operational validation and aircrew endorsement of Aircraft Documentation Sets for UAS.
- Represent SQEP aircrew insights at Project Safety Committees for UAS, ensuring that design hazards are adequately addressed.
- Provide training to internal crew members for UAS operations.
Required Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- A minimum of 3 years of involvement in complex and demanding UAS flight operations as a UAS-P or UAS-C.
- Experience in operating a large, intricate UAS.
- Military pilot experience with aircraft such as Tucano, Texan, Hawk, or similar combat aircraft is advantageous.
- UAS-P/C certification with experience in military or civilian UAS operations.
Desirable:
- EUK CAA or EASA CPL/IR certification.
- Experience in Test and Evaluation.

About the UAS Pilot Team:
The Uncrewed Air System Pilot (UAS-P) is tasked with the safe and effective execution of airborne test flights required by various BAE Systems Falcon Works UAS programmes. These test flights encompass experimental, development, production, and maintenance evaluations.
The UAS-P will also provide SQEP advice to uncrewed air system programmes across all business levels.
