About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust as a Medicines Outpatient Pharmacist. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and contribute to the delivery of high-quality outpatient pharmacy services to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the efficient and effective delivery of outpatient pharmacy services, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and safety in accordance with legislation, GPhC regulations, and RPS professional standards.
  • Contribute to the optimization and development of the outpatient pharmacy, participating in improvement audits and investigations of errors.
  • Work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Manager and deputize in their absence, ensuring the responsible pharmacist is available as required.
  • Screen, dispense, and check prescriptions in accordance with local and national policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Implement clinical policies, procedures, and prescribing guidelines under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Ensure the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Responsible Pharmacist) Regulations 2008 are adhered to at all times and maintain the pharmacy record.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic planning processes for the outpatient pharmacy, implementing and monitoring action plans as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the pharmacy environment, driving efficiency and patient safety.
  • Provide professional advice and support to staff, ensuring legal and professional pharmaceutical requirements are met.
  • Manage relevant pharmacy staff, contributing to competency assessments and appraisal systems.
Requirements
  • Good standard of education, including English and Maths.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Working towards or holding an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or relevant GPhC-accredited training program.
  • Experience of working in a pharmacy setting, with previous clinical and administrative experience.
  • Experience of working in the NHS or other healthcare setting.
