Job Title: Personal Care Assistant

Location: North Walsham, NR28

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide domestic and social support for a lady with limited mobility in her home in North Walsham.

Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality care and support to enable the lady to live independently and maintain her quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with personal care, including showering, dressing, and hair care.
  2. Support transfers to and from a motorised wheelchair and assistance using a standing frame and motorised exercise bicycle.
  3. Help with shopping and participation in voluntary and social activities.
  4. Assist with food preparation, cooking meals from scratch, and light housework, including cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, changing bedding, and laundry.
  5. Assist with paperwork, telephone calls, and general household administration.
  6. Work primarily at home but may occasionally involve outings to local venues.
Person Specification:
  1. A sense of humour and ability to work independently.
  2. Adaptability to the lady's condition and physical capabilities.
  3. Ability to work on own initiative and maintain confidentiality.
  4. Full driving licence and ability to drive a manual Motability car.
Terms and Conditions:
  1. Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour.
  2. Hours: 18 hours per week at flexible times plus additional hours for holiday cover. A job share arrangement would be considered.
  3. 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays.
Post Requirements:
  1. A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
  2. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
