Facilities Maintenance Technician

Pertemps is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team.
The responsibilities of a Facilities Maintenance Technician encompass security management, logistical support, maintenance tasks, health and safety compliance, driving duties, and cleanliness upkeep.
Salary: £24,500
Hours: Shift pattern from 7am-6pm
Key Responsibilities:
Security Management:
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of procedures for securing and accessing all facilities, including the management of alarm systems and ensuring that all unnecessary lighting and equipment are turned off.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to enhance the security of all assets and maintain a visible security presence.
- Oversee CCTV operations in accordance with data protection protocols and respond to incidents as necessary. Report any equipment issues and coordinate with law enforcement as needed.
- Monitor the activities of visitors and contractors to safeguard the building and its contents.
- Ensure that all fire and security alarms are operational at all times, reporting any deficiencies to the appropriate Team Leader for resolution.
- Perform maintenance, decoration, and minor repairs on equipment, furniture, fixtures, and the building structure. Carry out assigned maintenance tasks at various locations as directed by the management team.
- Monitor equipment to ensure proper functionality, identifying faults and shutting down appliances when not in use.
- Ensure that drainage systems, including gullies and gutters, are clear and functioning properly, and maintain cleanliness in grease traps.
- Maintain all outdoor areas, including hard surfaces and landscaped spaces, ensuring they are tidy and free from litter.
- Manage the upkeep of hedges, grass, and flower beds, including weed control and maintenance of sports pitches.
- Ensure safe access by keeping pathways and entrances clear of obstructions and addressing safety hazards during adverse weather conditions.
- Oversee the cleanliness of the premises during closures and outside of contracted cleaning hours, addressing spills and restocking supplies as necessary.
- Provide logistical support between departments, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling of parcels.
- Address online requests as directed by management and assist with office relocations as needed.
- Manage waste and recycling disposal effectively.
- Prepare rooms for various college events, including open days and examinations.
- Willingness to engage in relevant training opportunities.
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with written procedures and guidelines.
- Possession of a current, valid full driving license.
