About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Northern Powergrid. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative solutions to meet the region's energy needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake power system studies to identify constraints and develop creative solutions to address them.
  • Design and model potential solutions to optimize network performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to mitigate network constraints and develop solutions related to power requirements.
Requirements
  • A detailed understanding of HV and/or LV electricity distribution networks.
  • Ability to deliver quality outputs to required deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the operation of electricity distribution assets.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with others in a flexible manner.
  • Proficiency in analytical software and engineering packages.
Qualifications and Experience
  • HNC in Electrical Power Engineering.
  • Knowledge of distribution networks for load and generation connections.
  • Full UK driving licence.
