Job Overview

The successful candidate will support the ward manager in overseeing the daily operations and supervision of both registered and non-registered personnel within the ward environment.

This role is essential in ensuring the delivery of healthcare services to the community, with ongoing responsibility for assessing care requirements and implementing high-quality professional nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be accountable for providing strong leadership to a team, ensuring a high standard of service delivery within the available resources. The main responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the ward manager in fostering a culture of effective risk management within the team.
  • Promoting the advancement of evidence-based practices.
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with various disciplines and partners, particularly with local authorities.
  • Leading the management of complex cases and offering support to staff in handling such situations.
  • Acting in the absence of the ward manager to address serious incidents, complaints, and team communications, ensuring feedback is provided to facilitate learning and enhance practice development.
  • Serving as a deputy for the Ward Manager as required.

Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this position; applications are welcomed from both Welsh and English speakers.
