In response to our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a Quality Assurance and Safety Manager to join our team.

The Quality Assurance and Safety Manager will be tasked with upholding the highest standards of health and safety, as well as quality assurance. This role will oversee the Stores Team and manage all aspects related to quality and health and safety.

Our preferred candidate will hold a mechanical engineering qualification or have substantial relevant experience. A qualification in IOSH/NEBOSH and a solid understanding of quality management systems are essential.

Applicants should have experience in machine manufacturing and assembly, with a clear understanding of the current UK/EC & Global Machinery Directives. Familiarity with the standards of the Petrochemical Industries would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for all health and safety and quality-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's health and safety and quality policies at all times.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Perform regular site inspections to verify adherence to health and safety policies and maintain high-quality standards throughout production.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports.
  • Stay informed about new legislation and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance on specialized areas such as fire safety, hazardous materials, and noise control.
  • Lead training sessions for management and staff on health and safety and quality management practices.
  • Maintain the company's ISO 9001 accreditation and implement necessary improvements.
  • Review and prepare quality documentation for approval.
  • Conduct dimensional checks as needed within manufacturing and assembly areas.
  • Assist in investigations of non-conformance issues.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, design, and sales teams to enhance process validation and procedural improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with project-level requirements.
  • Investigate quality concerns, analyze component interactions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to optimize the overall process.
  • Manage the calibration of instruments used in manufacturing, validation, and inspection.
  • Develop protocols for data inspection and evaluation.
  • Conduct internal audits and prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of quality systems.
  • Support customers with complaint resolution, product returns, and ongoing quality assistance.
  • Ensure thorough inspection of incoming goods.
  • Carry out first article, interim, and final inspections of products as required.
  • Complete quality inspection paperwork as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to quality inspection procedures.
