We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Anthro JV, a joint venture partner of Egis, managing the MEP program of works at Old Oak Common.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead a small Engineering team to deliver the design, installation, and commissioning of either the Mechanical or Public Health scope of works at HS2 Old Oak Common Station. This will involve all stages from design to completion, ensuring successful delivery from a HSE, programme, quality, and compliance perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small Engineering team to deliver the design, installation, and commissioning of Mechanical or Public Health scope of works at HS2 Old Oak Common Station.
  • Undertake Mechanical and Public Health design review in line with current project applicable HS2, NR, BS, EN, and ISO standards.
  • Manage a 3rd party design consultant in delivering the design deliverables required for the project.
  • Liaise with main Contractor Designers to review comments and agree an efficient way forward with resolving design comments.
  • Ensure design risk assessment is compliant with installation parameters.
  • Provide engineered solutions to key project problems to satisfy client expectations, project restrictions, and budget considerations.
  • Direct liaison with CAD/BIM team to ensure correct drawing modelling to BIM or other standards.
  • Attend and participate as the Mechanical lead, interdisciplinary design reviews and checks (IDR/IDC).
  • Support and where required, carry out the Commissioning of Mechanical Systems.
  • Carry out site surveys/visits for project purposes, not limited to the purpose of identifying scope, improvements to systems, dilapidation, and design requirements.
  • Direct liaison with installation teams to ensure design suitability, works methodology, and solve key installation issues/constructability.
  • Working with the commercial department to track technical or design change and variances.
  • Working with the planning department to plan design, installation, and T&C works. Provision of accurate assessment on forecast works to complete and provide suitable readjustments to ensure project programme is maintained.
  • Ensure design and works comply with VVB/Anthro and client quality management systems.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Engineering Council Registration as Incorporated Engineer.
  • Registered member of IMechE, IET, CIBSE, or other recognised Engineering Council Institutions.
  • SMSTS, SSSTS, or IOSH Managing Safety.
  • CSCS Card – AQP or PQP min.
  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Engineering Council Registration as Chartered Engineer.
  • Project management qualification, APM, PRINCE 2, or equivalent.
  • Formal HSE training, NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • DSEAR & ATEX formal training.
  • Knowledge of relevant Mechanical and Public Health installations legislation and standards, BIM, and design modelling standards, and all other associated standards and legislation.
  • Advanced MS Office skills including Excel.
  • Utilisation of MS Project or P6.
  • Fire rated ductwork.
  • Large HVAC systems inc heatpumps.
  • Public Health (Potable water, DHW, gravity and pumped drainage, rain water collection etc).
  • Revit (or equivalent BIM product).
  • Utilisation of Mechanical design Packages (HEVACOMP, IES etc).
  • Utilisation of pipe stress analysis software (AUTOPipe or CASEAR II).
  • Design using AutoCAD, Microstation, or Revit.
  • Awareness of DSEAR/ATEX requirements and obligations as designer and installer.
