The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering small-scale projects and supporting senior team members on large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership and deliver small-scale projects
  • Support senior team members on large-scale projects and take ownership of specific workstreams
  • Lead workshops with clients and design teams and communicate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Effectively delegate, manage, and review work undertaken by others
  • Support the training and development of junior members of the team
  • Undertake a range of modelling and analysis, including embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, and building performance simulation
  • Support the drive towards realising net zero whole life carbon in our projects
  • Work with other members of the Sustainability Group on research and development initiatives to stay at the cutting edge of knowledge in our industry
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced sustainability consultant with a strong background in whole life carbon, energy strategies, and building regulations. You will have a degree in an applicable field and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Whole life carbon
  • Energy strategies
  • Building Regulations Part L assessments using Elmhurst and IES
  • NABERS UK modelling
  • In-use energy modelling and assessment
  • Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort assessments and overheating risk assessments
  • BREEAM and HQM assessments
  • Bespoke sustainability charters
  • Health and wellbeing strategies and certification
  • Production of planning documents including sustainability statements, energy statements, whole life carbon reports, and circular economy statements
  • Net zero carbon strategies and embodied carbon calculations
  • Circular economy strategies
