Position Overview:
Job Title: Special Educational Needs Officer (Focus on Preparing for Adulthood – Post 16)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Weekly Commitment: 37 hours
Compensation: £300-£400 per day
Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with office presence required on designated days
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the principles and statutory processes outlined in the SEN Code of Practice.
- Ensure compliance with statutory timelines.
- Manage and prioritize workload effectively.
- Engage with parents of children with special educational needs, SEND Casework Officers, and various professionals in health and social care.
- Draft clear, concise, and accessible EHC Plans.
- Participate in annual reviews for young individuals aged 16 and above as needed.
- Revise EHC Plans post-annual reviews.
- Analyze sensitive and complex information from professional assessments regarding individual children.
- Guarantee that EHC Plans fulfill legal standards and withstand external evaluation.
- Identify inconsistencies or gaps in assessment reports.
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices in education, health, and care plan documentation.
- Prepare documentation to support mediation and tribunal processes.
