Role Overview: As a Facilities Maintenance Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for executing both scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks across various mechanical, electrical, and structural assets within our facilities. Your work will be conducted efficiently and in alignment with the company's Health and Safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all necessary Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and ensure that all remedial actions are documented and executed in compliance with legal standards.
- Oversee the activities of the Maintenance Assistant, providing ongoing guidance and support to ensure adherence to company procedures.
- Respond swiftly to service requests from the Helpdesk, evaluating job requirements and executing repairs as needed.
- Prioritize maintenance tasks to meet established timelines and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate the presence of subcontractors on-site and assist management teams in overseeing their activities.
- Conduct surveys and prepare reports as necessary.
- Execute modifications and installations within your area of expertise, adhering to current specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams on facility upgrades, renovations, and other relevant projects.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and keep up with technical advancements, which may involve overnight travel.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date asset database for each facility.
- Adhere to the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold quality standards consistently.
- Ensure that all compliance documentation related to assigned tasks is completed to the required quality standards.
- Facilitate mandatory training for yourself and your team, including induction and eLearning modules, within specified timeframes.
- Provide on-the-job training and support to ensure team members meet performance expectations.
- Deliver technical coaching to trainees, fostering an engaging learning environment.
- Manage all training administration, including probationary assessments, to ensure team competency and performance awareness.
- Participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (minimum one week in four) and address general plumbing and drainage repairs during standby periods.
- Act as the first point of contact for issues related to equipment such as Fire and Security systems, HVAC, electrical, and general maintenance.
Qualifications:
- C&G NVQ Level 3
- C&G Electrical Part A & B - Approved Electrician
- C&G Electrical Part C - Technician
- BTEC Diploma in Electrical Installation
- BTEC Diploma in Electrical Maintenance
- Recent completion of a full electrical apprenticeship is preferred.
- Proficient in maintaining and repairing a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment, including fans, pumps, and compressors, to recognized standards.
- General plumbing and building maintenance experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
- Capability to meet the standards required for the maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
