In this fast-paced environment, we are seeking a talented Financial Analyst Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our trading team, you will play a crucial role in turning data into actionable insights that inform business decisions.

Your primary responsibility will be to analyze large data sets across our trading areas to support all commercial activities. You will make clear recommendations from your analysis, ensuring that our business decisions are informed by accurate and reliable data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large data sets to support commercial activities and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Access various data points to provide a complete picture of performance, including financial and customer data.
  • Bring best practice analytical processes into the finance team and support the wider team in data analysis.
  • Support buying and sourcing teams in supplier negotiations using data and insight to inform decision-making.
  • Automate key reporting requirements using Power BI to standardize processes and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Review external data to ensure the latest marketing trends are understood and available across the business.
  • Perform in-depth analysis on sales and margin, including trial reporting, supplier profitability, and promotional analysis.
  • Work with non-financial stakeholders to enhance commercial awareness, challenge, and improve processes and efficiency.

About You

We are looking for a talented individual with strong analytical capabilities, excellent Excel skills, and a strong analytical approach. You should be able to build strong relationships across the business, have a passion for completing tasks to tight deadlines, and be able to work calmly under pressure.
