Senior Director, S/4HANA Lead Management Accounting

At Lonza, we're committed to excellence in life sciences. To achieve this, we're embarking on a significant Transformation Project to introduce S/4HANA. As part of this initiative, we're creating new positions to support the project, including the Senior Director, S/4HANA Lead Management Accounting role.

This key workstream lead will ensure global business requirements are translated into standardized concepts for the A2D workstream. The successful incumbent will be accountable for all deliverables of this stream, including formal approval from design to implementation.

The role requires an experienced Finance professional who can coordinate the project with all relevant stakeholders and lead a team of functional experts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of functional experts assigned to this stream
  • Accountable for the deliverables of this stream, including formal approval
  • Developing a detailed plan outlining tasks, milestones, and deliverables
  • Coordinating with the S/4HANA project management team on timeline and milestones
  • Assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, and ensuring the team adheres to deadlines
  • Communicating project status, issues, and risks to relevant stakeholders regularly
  • Identifying and assessing risks associated with the stream and developing mitigation strategies
  • Facilitating workshops and discussions related to decision-making in this stream
  • Working with process experts to analyze existing processes and identify improvements
  • Collaborating with the team to gather and review requirements and design solutions
  • Ensuring functional requirements and solutions align with overall objectives
  • Cooperating with consultants and IT experts to address solution-related questions
  • Organizing prototype review sessions with relevant stakeholders to verify system build
  • Collaborating with data specialists to ensure a smooth transition of data to S/4HANA
  • Planning and organizing system, process, and data testing for assigned stream
  • Preparing, planning, and organizing training materials and training execution
  • Establishing a Key User Community in the area of responsibility
  • Accountable for change management and control related to assigned stream
Key Requirements:
  • Significant experience in Management Accounting within a manufacturing or production company
  • Previous experience in Site Production Controlling would be advantageous
  • Strong experience in Project Management, ideally with S/4HANA experience, but also significant transformation project experience
  • Track record of successful collaboration on projects leading to positive business outcomes
