About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Catering Production & Services Team as a Bank Catering Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food services to patients, staff, visitors, and for functions/external income.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all aspects of food preparation, delivery, and service.
  • Participate in wash-up cleaning duties and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Catering Production & Services Team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and handling practices.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with patients, staff, and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.

Requirements:

  • Availability to complete Corporate induction training and department induction.
  • Good communication and customer care skills.
  • Standard grade English and Arithmetic or equivalent.
  • Experience in large-scale catering or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the role.

Training and Development:

  • Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • SVQ Food & Beverage Service level 1 or equivalent.
  • Food Hygiene Regulations and Food Safety Assurance system.
  • Safe Systems of Work and work schedules.
  • Health and Safety Policies and regulations.
  • Infection Control practices.
  • Cash Handling and Standing Financial Instructions.
  • Healthcare Support Workers Workbook.
  • National Catering Assistant Workbook.
  • Corporate Mandatory & Statutory Training requirements.
  • Waste management requirements and Regulations.
  • Allergen Regulations requirements.
  • Patient therapeutic diet requirements, including Modified Texture Consistency Staged Diets.

Working Arrangements:

This is a bank post, working as and when required. You will be expected to work various shift patterns within the department between 07:45 and 19:45. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service.
