Product Security Engineer

Meta's Product Security team is seeking a skilled security professional to join their team. As a Product Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting the security and privacy of over two billion people. Your expertise will be essential in providing engineering and product teams with the necessary security guidance to make informed product decisions.

  1. Security Reviews: Conduct thorough manual design and implementation reviews of products and services within the Meta ecosystem, including Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, Portal, and more.
  2. Developer Guidance: Provide education and guidance to developers to prevent the authoring of vulnerabilities and ensure secure coding practices.
  3. Automated Analysis and Secure Frameworks: Collaborate with software engineers to build automation and frameworks that enable Meta to scale consistently across all products.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in finding vulnerabilities in interpreted languages (PHP, Ruby, Python) and knowledge of secure code development best practices.
  3. Experience with exploiting common security vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in writing software that enables security processes.
  2. Contributions to the security community through public research, blogging, presentations, bug bounty, etc.
