Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team as a Commercial Expert. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the successful execution of commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial Contract Management: Review and agree on client-issued subcontracts and project programs in collaboration with the operations team.
  • Procurement and Subcontract Management: Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and submissions, manage the placement of subcontracts and procurement orders.
  • Contract Administration: Issue notices such as early warnings, extensions of time, and other contractual documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Commercial Analysis: Prepare, submit, and agree on variations, manage cash value reconciliations and final account agreements.
  • Retention and Cash Management: Oversee retentions and ensure their correct release.
  • Commercial Support: Attend client meetings, such as project technical meetings, and visit project sites as needed.
  • Market Intelligence: Gather commercial feedback and market trends, and share insights with relevant departments.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Recognized qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Commercial Knowledge: Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, financial aspects such as cash flows, budgets, gross profit, and profit and loss.
  • Software Skills: Experience using SAP software is desirable.
  • Industry Background: Background in the construction or M&E sectors is desirable.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: £40,000 to £48,000.
  • Benefits Package: Health cash plan, performance bonus, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, 25 days of annual leave (increasing with service), relevant training opportunities.
