Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HGV Driver to join our team at Jewson, a leading supplier of building materials. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely delivering materials to our customers, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery and Logistics
    • Deliver building materials to customers in a safe and efficient manner
    • Load and unload materials from vehicles, using manual handling equipment as needed
    • Operate a vehicle-mounted crane to load and unload heavy materials
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving any issues promptly
    • Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Contribute to the efficient operation of our supply chain, ensuring timely delivery of materials
    • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve any supply chain issues or disruptions

Requirements

  • Qualifications and Experience
    • Valid HGV license (Class 2)
    • HIAB training and certification
    • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the building materials industry
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Physical stamina to handle manual handling tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
