Moderator for GCE A Level English Language and Literature

Pearson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Moderator to review centre assessments of candidates' work in English Language and Literature (2016 Specification). As a Moderator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of marking, upholding the highest standards of assessment.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in centres.
  • Undertake direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.
  • Complete and submit centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as required.
Requirements
  • One academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years and within the relevant qualification and subject.
  • A degree or equivalent.
  • Qualification as a teacher.
Competencies
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.
