Position Overview
This role is designed as a collaborative teaching position, where the selected candidate will work closely with another educator to facilitate, plan, and enhance the learning experience in Geography and the Built Environment. The individual will play a key role in crafting lectures and educational materials, leading seminars, supervising student research, conducting assessments, and ensuring the effective management of the course. Teaching responsibilities will be divided with the co-tutor by weeks or topics, with expectations for the candidate to take the lead on certain subjects while contributing to others throughout the academic terms.
Employment Details
This is a part-time role with a salary range of £42,000 to £50,000, inclusive of a London Allowance, calculated on a pro-rata basis per annum.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong capability for undergraduate-level instruction within a prestigious academic environment and will be adept at supporting a diverse group of international students in their transition to higher education. A PhD in a relevant field is required (PhD candidates nearing completion may also be considered), along with a first degree in human geography, architecture/urbanism, sociology, or related areas. This position provides avenues for professional growth, including mentorship opportunities.
