Overview of the Education Law Department:

The Education Law Department specializes in navigating the complexities of educational legislation, ensuring that children receive the necessary support and guidance. Our expert advisors are equipped to provide both comprehensive legal counsel and urgent assistance in times of crisis, addressing associated social care issues.

We collaborate closely with guardians and parents to identify optimal solutions tailored to each child's educational needs. Our services include supporting children facing unfair exclusions, guiding institutions through Academy conversions, and addressing various parental disputes and safeguarding matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct reporting to the Department Director.
  • Maintain a proactive and professional approach, demonstrating strong client care skills.
  • Manage all aspects of Education Law cases, offering technical guidance to team members when necessary.
  • Handle matters related to Special Education Needs (SEN), school admission appeals, and social care judicial reviews.
  • Oversee Academy conversions and provide advisory services on health and safety and safeguarding issues.
  • Effectively manage a diverse caseload, ensuring compliance with file management standards.
  • Maintain accurate time costing records.
Essential Skills:
  • A valid Practicing Certificate is required at the time of application.
  • A collaborative team player who embraces new challenges.
  • Proven supervisory experience with a focus on key performance indicators.
  • Strong client care abilities, with a sensitive approach to resolving complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills to enhance business development.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • In-depth knowledge of Education Law, particularly regarding Special Education Needs and school admission processes.
  • Previous experience in education and adult social services is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
