Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs in a KS3 and KS4 setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in creating a nurturing environment that enables students to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.
  • Assist with outdoor day trips and activity days to promote social skills and independence.
  • Embody the school's vision and core values, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with students who have ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviors, providing individualized support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
Requirements:
  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience to work effectively with students who require additional support.
  • Experience working in a SEN school or setting (not essential).
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
