The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of projects, delivering expert guidance while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Needs & Feasibility Assessments Assist in identifying client needs and conducting feasibility assessments to evaluate project potential.
- Surveys & Evaluations Perform diverse surveys and evaluations to assess building conditions and pinpoint required repairs or enhancements.
- Specifications & Documentation Develop and produce comprehensive specifications for projects, alongside tender and contract documentation.
- Project Management Collaborate with design team members and project stakeholders to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Employer's Agent & Contract Management Serve as the Employer's Agent and Contract Manager, overseeing project contracts and ensuring compliance with established terms.
- Site Inspections & Evaluations Conduct site inspections to evaluate current conditions and outline future project requirements.
- Reporting & Documentation Prepare detailed reports and necessary documentation, including plans, contracts, and financial estimates.
- Project Assessment Assess site activities and generate progress reports focusing on timelines, quality, and cost considerations.
- Party Wall Act Consultation Provide advice and act in accordance with the Party Wall Etc Act, serving as an appointed surveyor when required.
- CDM Regulations Adherence Advise on and ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, acting as Principal Designer when necessary.
Qualifications
- Chartered status (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in building surveying, construction project management, or a similar role.
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of building regulations, construction processes, and safety standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise in report writing and document preparation.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
