About the Role: Young Person Resilience Worker, YJS Lead

We are seeking a dedicated Young Person Resilience Worker, YJS Lead to join our Sefton Young Persons Service. This role is integral to engaging young people in a range of interventions using a person-centered approach. Your mission will be to empower our service users to reduce risk, increase resilience, and lead safe, happy, and healthy lives.

You'll play a vital role in recording information about your work, so attention to detail is essential. However, the majority of your time will be spent interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, making a tangible difference in their lives. No two days are the same, and we treat every individual who comes into our service as unique, so flexibility, curiosity, and active listening skills are key.

Responsibilities

  • Engage young people in a meaningful way that empowers them to access ongoing support.
  • Collaborate closely with partners within Youth Justice Services.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop collaborative support packages for young people, encompassing brief interventions, harm reduction strategies, one-on-one sessions, group work, and clinical support.
  • Develop individual care plans that clearly outline how achieving each goal will contribute to addressing substance use and related outcomes.
  • Work closely with the service's Safeguarding Lead to ensure all issues and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop comprehensive risk management plans.
  • Be responsive to the needs of young people, ensuring interventions are accessible by facilitating home visits, working with colleges, universities, and other relevant settings.

About You

  • Proven experience working with young people.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people today.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns related to children, young people, and adults.
  • Understanding of drug and alcohol issues.
  • Experience in building strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge and experience working with young people who use substances.
  • Experience in delivering training to diverse audiences in various settings.
