Job Title: Optical Characterisation Engineer

At Snap Inc., we're seeking a highly skilled Optical Characterisation Engineer to join our Optical Engine Team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing and building optical measurement instrumentation and test stations for the characterisation of AR devices and subcomponents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop experimental methodology to establish performance of new components and assemblies.
  • Perform instrumentation calibration and validation.
  • Develop new analysis and processing techniques to better understand and evaluate device performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failure mechanisms.
  • Develop and contribute to common codebases for hardware control and analysis.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Physics, Optics, or other relevant engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in optical engineering or PhD in physics, optics, or engineering.
  • Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping of jigs and fixtures.
  • Experience in display testing and image quality evaluation.
  • Experience in colorimetry and radiometry.
  • Experience in AR/VR systems.
