Plymouth-based civil engineering contractor seeks a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join their Regional Civils team.
About the Role:This exciting opportunity involves delivering a major infrastructure project in a safety-critical environment, covering various aspects of heavy civil engineering. As a HSE Advisor, you will provide guidance to the contractor and client on statutory and best practice requirements throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct site inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks at planning stages
- Support project managers with site investigations and audits
- Prepare comprehensive reports following site visits, inspections, and investigations
- Review and update project documentation to ensure compliance with regulations
- Develop and promote a positive Health and Safety culture within the team
- NEBOSH Diploma or Grad IOSH with CMIOSH certification
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) competence
- Security clearance through UKSV (United Kingdom Security Vetting)
- Strong understanding of CDM2015 Roles and Responsibilities
- Competence in incident investigation and analysis
- Demonstrable experience in a health and safety advisory role within construction
- Strong HS&E legal knowledge and practical application
- Experience in delivering HS&E training and support to multiple project teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
