Job Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is currently seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join their team for an initial 10-month contract with potential to extend. This role may require on-site working initially, with potential for remote work with occasional visits to offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a robust data repository to support project team needs, including creating required queries and screens for data interrogation and viewing.
  • Provide high-quality Excel outputs for sharing with NHS partner organisations.
  • Extend the data structure to support import, separation, and comparison of data from partner organisations, including categorisation and indication of differences.
  • Create reports on financial liability, variance, member and contract statistics, and data validation outcomes.
  • Advise on limitations and risks associated with the project data repository and manage the transition to an alternative data tool if necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Business Analyst on data requirements and specifications.
  • Engage positively and professionally with the project team, internal and external subject matter experts, and stakeholder groups.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in Access DB and database management, including maintenance, manipulation, access, and querying using SQL.
  • Experience in data modelling, reporting, analysis, presentation, and visualisation.
  • Ability to apply a range of tools and techniques to collate and analyse data.
  • Experience in conceiving, designing, and building dashboards using tools such as Excel and enterprise BI solutions.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to define and implement reporting requirements.
  • Experience working on large projects and ability to work independently on MS Access.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and schedule work within an agreed set of priorities or work programme.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to support the transition to Apex Oracle after Excel.

Desirable Skills:

  • Data analysis qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst.
