About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead our team and drive the development of world-class products. As Head of Mechanical Engineering and Product Development, you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of engineers to design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers to develop and implement departmental policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve product development processes and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers and partners.
  • Develop and implement departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a mechanical engineering department.
  • Extensive experience in the development of consumer-based products.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering software.
  • Proficient in CAD design tools 2D / 3D (CREO, SolidWorks), mechanical simulation tools (ANSYS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships along with the confidence to challenge where necessary.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • The tenacity to achieve challenging goals.
  • An analytical thinker with a logical and methodical approach to identifying issues and solutions.
  • Experience with developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting KPI's.
  • The ability to research, identify, implement and monitor innovative solutions.
  • The ability to inspire a culture of continuous improvement.
