Job Description

Boxcar Baker is seeking a skilled Bakery Assistant to join our team in a collaborative kitchen environment. As a key member of our baking team, you will be responsible for supporting our Head Baker and Consultant in maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency in our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain impeccable attention to detail in all aspects of baking, ensuring consistency and excellence in every product.
  • Understand and apply food preparation techniques for both sweet and savory items.
  • Follow established recipes and production schedules to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and bakery area, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation to ensure optimal supply levels.
  • Work effectively with a positive attitude, even during night shifts and high-pressure situations.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a baker, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality baked goods.
  • Passion for baking and traditional baking techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering products of the highest standard.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively, especially during solo shifts and night working.
  • Positive mindset, especially when under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, night shifts, and early mornings.
