About the Role

Consilium Recruit is partnering with a leading automotive manufacturer to find a skilled Workshop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of an engineering workshop. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is carried out efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of workshop staff, including technicians and apprentices.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Assign tasks and projects to technicians based on their skills and workload.
  • Plan and schedule work to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor and inspect work performed by technicians to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct final inspections and test drives to verify the quality of repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs, providing hands-on support as needed.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate with customers to explain repair needs, provide estimates, and discuss service options.
  • Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for scheduled work.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including environmental and health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labour hours.
  • Prepare reports on workshop performance, including productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in an automotive repair or maintenance role, including experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Self-driven with experience of working with others to deliver customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, alongside strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work to strict deadlines.
