Sustainability and Ecology Consultant

About The Role

Morrison Energy Services is expanding its capabilities to deliver high-standard projects, including the Great Grid Upgrade. We are seeking an enthusiastic and competent Ecologist to work as an Environmental Advisor (Ecology) within our Overhead Line and Substation business. This role will be site-based, primarily in England and Wales, with occasional support to our Scottish project teams. A driving license, willingness to travel, and overnight stays are essential requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Day-to-day environmental management of high-profile projects, working directly with site teams and customer representatives.
2. Being a key point of contact for liaison with customers, regulatory bodies, stakeholders, community groups, and other important individuals.
3. Providing specialist support in ecological, environmental, and sustainability matters across the business, including addressing wider environmental risks and providing advice, training, controls, and mitigation for site-based projects.
4. Contributing towards the design and implementation of new build projects to boost biodiversity and help MES progress with Biodiversity Net Gain requirements.

Business Requirements

The nature of our business is evolving, and as well as maintaining essential services, we are moving towards the construction of new nationally significant infrastructure to deliver the Government's carbon commitments.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

1. Knowledge of ecological survey methods, assessment techniques, mitigation, and control measures.
2. Personal interest in environment/sustainability issues.
3. Excellent computer literacy.
4. Valid driving license within the UK and willingness to travel.

Additional Information

This role will be predominantly site-based, with travel across the UK expected, including overnight stays, as well as attending the office located in Annesley, Nottinghamshire.
