About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Exercise Therapist to join our Physiotherapy Team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exercise intervention to patients attending the Living with and Beyond Cancer service across our Eastern and Northern hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exercise therapy in both 1:1 and group settings to patients with symptoms relating to breathlessness, fatigue, deconditioning, exercise, and motivation.
  • Assess and develop exercise programs tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Consultants, Specialist Nurses, Dieticians, and Physiotherapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct group exercise classes on various hospital sites, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
  • Provide rehabilitation and follow-up support to patients as needed.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in exercise therapy, preferably in a cancer care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to assess and develop exercise programs for patients with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
