About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our Retail Finance team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in tracking and managing the Retail Cost Base, ensuring that we are investing our members' money wisely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the creation of processes to track risks and opportunities across the Retail Function.
  • Work with Central Finance to feed in cost updates that support Executive Committee communications.
  • Take ownership of creating new and streamlining existing reporting to adapt to the changing environment, keeping the Retail Senior Leadership Team up to date with key financial measures.
  • Perform financial analysis to enable business partners to have insightful conversations with key stakeholders, driving different actions to manage costs.
  • Support the adoption of our new planning, forecasting, and reporting tool (Board) to drive efficiencies across the team.
Requirements
  • Be a part-qualified/qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience working in a finance role.
  • Have good stakeholder management/business partnering experience with the aim of building strong working relationships.
  • Be analytically minded and able to analyze and present data that drives decision-making.
  • Have strong Excel skills and the ability to build robust models that can collect and report data.
  • Have experience of using finance systems (such as Longview, Peoplesoft, Board) and support key processes such as Month-end, Planning, and Forecasting.
  • Be a highly motivated individual, with the ability to prioritize and plan work to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to a great standard.
