About the Role

The Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Specialist Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Psychological Medicine Service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex mental and physical health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with colleagues from psychiatry and psychology to provide effective joined-up management of patient care.
  • Carry a relatively small caseload and liaise with other healthcare professionals to provide specialist advice and support.
  • Act as a representative of mental health services within a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist advice and support in relation to colleague interactions with patients.
  • Advise on the suitability of new referrals, assessments, and offer interventions for adults with complex mental health presentations and complex comorbid mental and physical health.

Requirements

  • Qualified mental health nurse, OT, or social worker with demonstrable experience in working in a mental health setting.
  • Specialist knowledge of working with patients with complex mental health needs or with patients with complex comorbid physical and mental health problems.
  • Understanding of different psychological therapies and how these can benefit patients.
  • Experience of MDT working and working in a primary care setting.
