Job Summary:

Absolutely Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Tester to join their team on a part-time basis. As a Fire Alarm Tester, you will be responsible for conducting weekly statutory fire alarm tests across multiple sites in the Kingston area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fire alarm testing on a weekly basis to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Record and document test results for each site, including any faults or issues encountered.
  • Develop a working knowledge of various alarm panels and systems to ensure effective testing and maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with fire wardens and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and report any issues or concerns related to fire safety and security.
  • Participate in annual fire risk assessments and contribute to the development of fire safety initiatives.
  • Assist with fire marshal training and other related activities as required.

Requirements:

  • A current and valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to learn systems quickly and follow instructions.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-sufficiency and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Recording and administration skills, including the ability to document work completed.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Observation skills, including the ability to notice small details.
  • Good timekeeping and organizational skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Practical skills in the operation of various fire alarm panels.
  • Working knowledge of fire safety precautions and electrical systems.
  • Nimbus training and operation.
