About the Role

Ackerman Pierce Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as a Clinical Specialist in Speech and Language Therapy for Deaf Children. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to work with a dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of deaf children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a comprehensive and highly specialist therapy service to deaf children, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Work closely with clients, carers, and families to develop and implement personalized plans of management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide advice and support to schools and preschool centers on creating communication-friendly environments that promote language and interaction skills in deaf children.
  • Take a clinical lead within the team, demonstrating highly specialist knowledge and clinical effectiveness underpinned by current evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
  • Analyze complex information, make appropriate diagnoses, and highly specialist clinical decisions on evidence from assessment of cases, including differential diagnoses.
  • Communicate complex information to carers, families, and members of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication is achieved, particularly where barriers to understanding exist.
Requirements
  • Highly specialist knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent qualifications, including further theoretical training and experience to Master's level equivalent in required speciality.
  • Continued Professional Development evidenced by attendance at short specialist postgraduate courses to maintain and develop own specialist knowledge and expertise.
  • Recognized Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC).
  • HCPC Licence to Practice, Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Membership of relevant CEN.
  • 6 months of paid patient-facing UK nursing experience from within the past 3 years.
  • Up-to-date clinical best practice knowledge.
