Role Overview

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting with the delivery of patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Personal Care Assistance: Aid patients with their daily hygiene routines and ensure they are dressed appropriately, while being attentive to any changes in their condition.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Under supervision, take and document patient observations such as temperature and skin assessments, promptly informing the Registered Nurse of any significant changes.
  • Support in Elimination Needs: Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to address and record patients' elimination requirements, ensuring accurate documentation of quantities and frequency.
  • Pressure Area Care: Work alongside the Registered Nurse to enhance your understanding of pressure area care and the proper use of mobility aids.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas, monitor stock levels, and report any faulty equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  • Patient Escorting: Safely escort patients to various departments as required, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Valuables Management: Promote the safe handling of patients' belongings in accordance with Trust policies.
