Job Description:

Data Engineer - Cloud Specialist

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer - Cloud Specialist to join our client's data team. As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and pipelines using AWS cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Scalable ETL Pipelines: You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines using AWS cloud technologies, ensuring data is ingested, processed, and stored effectively.
  • Implement Data Quality Checks and Monitoring Systems: Implementing data quality checks and monitoring systems will be key, as well as troubleshooting any data-related issues that arise in production.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts: You'll work closely with Data Scientists and Analysts to understand their needs and deliver high-quality, accessible datasets.
  • Develop and Maintain Data Models: Developing and maintaining data models that support business intelligence and analytics is also part of the role.
  • Contribute to Best Practices: Contributing to best practices in data engineering through code reviews and staying updated on emerging technologies in the field.
  • Document Data Architectures and Pipelines: Documenting data architectures, pipelines, and processes for seamless knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Implement DevOps/DataOps Practices: Implementing and maintaining DevOps/DataOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems, will be part of your responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 Years of Experience: Our client is looking for someone with 3-4 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • AWS Data Stack Experience: You should have strong experience working with the AWS Data Stack (like AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena).
  • Proven Experience in Building Data Pipelines: Proven experience in building and developing data pipelines is essential.
  • Proficiency in Python and Related Data Frameworks: Proficiency in Python and related data frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) is necessary.
  • Excellent SQL Skills: Excellent SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational database architecture are necessary.
  • Experience with DevOps/DataOps Practices: Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices and tools is a plus, along with familiarity with version control systems and collaborative workflows.
  • Familiarity with Real-Time Data Processing and Streaming Technologies: Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming technologies is a plus, as is experience with business intelligence tools.
