Research Scientist: Actinide Molecules for Exploring Fundamental Physics

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist to join our team at The University of Manchester to work on the ERC funded Actinide molecules for exploring the frontiers of fundamental physics project led by Prof Kieran Flanagan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, testing, and commissioning of novel cryogenic ion traps, mass spectrometry, and laser spectroscopy instrumentation.
- Support experiments, analyze results, and prepare papers for publication.
- Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field of nuclear physics.
- Ability to work as part of a team, both in the UK and abroad.
- Knowledge of experimental nuclear research using ion traps and lasers spectroscopy with low-energy radioactive ion beams.
