Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer with a strong background in PCB design and chip packaging to join our Hardware Platforms/PCB team at Arm. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new hardware platforms, working closely with our chip packaging team to drive PCB development and commissioning.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of high speed design, PCB stack-ups, and topologies, as well as experience in working alongside a chip packaging team. You will be able to influence and advise on the pinout of SoCs based on PCB analysis efforts, including cost optimization, feasibility, and trade-off analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new hardware platforms, working closely with the chip packaging team
  • Drive PCB development and commissioning, including PCB breakout strategies and SI and PI analysis
  • Work closely with the program team to plan and schedule tasks to meet project timescales
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams, including software, SoC implementation, and verification
Requirements:
  • High speed design experience with extensive knowledge of PCB stack-ups and topologies
  • Experience in working alongside a chip packaging team
  • Ability to influence and advise on the pinout of SoCs based on PCB analysis efforts
  • Knowledge of Signal Integrity and Power Integrity techniques from both board design and chip packaging perspectives
  • Experience with embedded system board design, designing with complex LSI devices such as FPGAs
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Cadence CIS, Mentor PADs Layout, Allegro PCB design suite, and Hyperlynx tools
  • Experience of automating decoupling capacitor optimization, DCR, SI, IC placement optimization, etc.
