Overview

The Scottish Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to take on the role of Chair of the Scottish Enterprise Board. As Chair, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Scottish Enterprise and driving its mission to support businesses and entrepreneurs across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

The Chair will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Board, working closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to achieve the organization's objectives. This will involve:

  • Providing guidance and support to the CEO and other Board members
  • Ensuring the Board is diverse, effective, and maintains the highest standards of corporate governance and financial management
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, politicians, and other influencers
  • Supporting the CEO in driving transformational change within Scottish Enterprise

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven experience in a leadership or chairing role, preferably in a similar sector
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A deep understanding of the Scottish business landscape and the challenges facing entrepreneurs and businesses
