About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Acute Oncology Service at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, working autonomously as an advanced practitioner, and contributing to the development and implementation of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously as an advanced practitioner within acute oncology, providing expert clinical care and advice to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, ward rounds, patient reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Undertake a variety of clinical skills, provide treatment and advice as per acute oncology guidelines, and utilize your scope of practice to undertake Non-Medical Prescribing.
  • Lead in the development and updating of referral guidelines and policies for the service, ensuring high standards of care and patient safety.
  • Manage medical emergencies, escalate concerns, and report safeguarding issues as required.
  • Ensure effective handover of patients between healthcare professionals, maintain accurate documentation, and monitor the quality of care provided by the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in cancer or acute care.
  • Experience in service development and implementation of change.
