We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bid Writer to join our team at Marlborough Highways. As a key member of our bid team, you will be responsible for developing and writing high-quality bid submissions that showcase our company's expertise and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Write Bid Submissions: Create high-quality, tailored bid responses that meet the client's expectations and evaluation criteria.
- Conduct Research and Interviews: Gather information and insights from internal and external teams to produce first-class bid submissions.
- Collaborate with Bid Coordinators: Work with bid coordinators to finalize document style and content, ensuring consistency and coherence throughout the bid.
- Lead and Mentor Bid Writers: Provide direction and guidance to junior bid writers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to produce high-quality bid submissions.
- Post-Bid Evaluation: Participate in post-bid evaluation and feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for future success.
- Experience: A minimum of seven years' successful bid writing experience, preferably in highways, civil engineering, and/or construction.
- Writing and Presentation Skills: Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Leadership and Teamwork: A good team leader with a personable approach, able to build effective relationships and communicate across a fast-moving business.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of relevant IT software, including SharePoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Bid Writing in Highways: Experience in bid writing in a highways-specific environment.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Previously managed and mentored at least one other bid writer.
- Additional Skills: Experience with additional software, including Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign.
