Job Title: Assistant Branch Manager

As an Assistant Branch Manager at GCS Associates, you will play a crucial role in supporting and overseeing our largest branch for the region, ensuring performance is sustained at its current level and optimised for continuous growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure legal compliance and the correct implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Support and develop staff capabilities, ensuring any underperformance is identified and the necessary support and coaching is provided to ensure improvement.
  • Authorise and collate weekly and monthly payroll information ensuring it is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure stock takes are completed fully and any material variances are to be investigated.
  • Ensure the necessary system housekeeping is carried out such as order monitor, orders are still valid.
  • Work with local councils and other agencies as and when required to ensure prohibitions notices are not served.
  • Ensure any incidents involving plant or company vehicles are reported within the required timescales and the necessary procedures are followed.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in a Builders' Merchant environment, either at local or national level.
  • Experience of the Builders Merchant trade, including but not limited to Timber and General building.
  • Ability to work on special projects as required from time to time.
  • Ability to provide out of hours support for the alarm and CCTV providers.
  • Ability to respond to and deal with any customer complaints.
