Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cover Supervisor to join our team at a comprehensive Bournemouth secondary school. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing class cover across various subjects, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality cover lessons, adhering to the school's curriculum and policies.
- Manage student behavior, maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents, ensuring seamless transitions and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Contribute to the school's commitment to safeguarding and child protection, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Experience in an educational setting or equivalent, with a strong understanding of curriculum and teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students.
- Strong behavioral management skills, with the ability to maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the school.
- DBS clearance, with the ability to register with the update service.

Please note that experience in an educational setting may not be necessary if the candidate can display desirable skills that are transferrable, such as from a sporting background or other leadership positions. The main prerequisite is that one is confident speaking in front of large groups and carrying out behavior management policies. Graduates looking to train to teach are particularly desirable.
Although the school are seeking a full-time cover supervisor, part time applications may also be considered if a job share can be possible.
The school is located in the Bournemouth area, making it easily accessible by public transport.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
