About the Role

James Gray Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading civil engineering contractor in Renfrewshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to ensure compliance with current legislation and company policies.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and review risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, produce detailed reports, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Lead and participate in health and safety training for site teams and ensure that staff are fully aware of safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure a safety-first culture.
  • Stay up to date with changes in health and safety legislation and industry standards.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Experience in a health and safety role within the construction or civil engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence.
