Job Description

Fastmarkets is a leading provider of price reporting, events, and intelligence services for global commodities markets. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Markets Editor to join our team.

The Strategic Markets Editor will play a critical role in driving Fastmarkets' PRA strategy in the biofuels and feedstock markets. This will involve producing high-level content, engaging with industry stakeholders, and acting as an ambassador for the Fastmarkets brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a content strategy to drive market engagement and visibility in the battery raw materials/energy transition markets
  • Collaborate with the broader business to plan engagement and lead the biofuels and feedstock team to engage with market participants and exchanges
  • Identify and produce high-level content, including insightful market reporting, in-depth focus pieces, and interviews
  • Work with the Editorial Director and Managing Regional Editors to define and plan priorities for strategic content and customer engagement
  • Guide and mentor reporters and provide strategic and functional direction to the team
  • Assess and approve prices for certain strategic markets as required, and ensure all prices produced by reporters meet Fastmarkets' and its regulators' rigorous standards
Requirements
  • Strong journalism skills and writing flair
  • A network of contacts and strong industry relations, ideally in the battery raw materials field
  • Experience of working in a PRA
  • Experience pricing a benchmark, or developing prices is highly desirable
  • Deep knowledge of the battery raw materials market or associated markets would be ideal
  • Ability to operate at the highest levels internally within a matrix management structure and with external stakeholders
  • Public speaking experience or demonstrable ability to do so with confidence and authority
