Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Station Technician to join our team at Buckie Lifeboat Station. As a Senior Station Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the Severn Class All Weather lifeboat is in top condition, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the Lifeboat Station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of volunteer crew members in maintaining the lifeboat and station equipment
  • Develop and implement quality, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Provide training and support to crew members to ensure they are equipped to respond to emergency situations
  • Represent RNLI at local events and engage with the community to promote our work
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure smooth station operations

Requirements

  • Time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering
  • Knowledge and experience of marine diesel engines and lifeboat maintenance
  • Leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driving license and ability to pass RNLI medical and eyesight standards
