About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Rehabilitation Support Worker to join our team at York House, a 38-bed independent hospital offering intensive neurobehavioural assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injury and challenging behaviour and/or complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to service users with acquired brain injury and challenging behaviour and/or complex needs, ensuring their individual needs are met and they complete their rehabilitation plans.
  • Ensure service users have maximum involvement in their own activities and decision making, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and support, adhering to neurobehavioural principles and best practice.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, their families and carers, and other stakeholders, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised care plans, ensuring they are person-centred and reflect the service user's goals and aspirations.
Requirements
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of individuals with acquired brain injury and challenging behaviour and/or complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
  • Good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to enhance skills and knowledge in neurobehavioural rehabilitation and support work.
