C&I Engineering Specialist
AWE Plc is seeking a skilled Control and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to provide expert engineering services across our facilities and equipment.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity to leverage your knowledge in delivering engineering solutions throughout the operational lifecycle of our assets, while receiving exceptional training and development to advance your career.
Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire
Compensation: £37,860 - £52,000 based on experience plus additional allowances
In this role, you will have the chance to work for one of the region's largest employers, where your contributions will be vital to the efficient operation of our business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing your expertise in C&I building services and related systems to develop engineered solutions during the operational lifecycle. This includes creating modification packages, managing plant changes, and acting as an informed client in the procurement of engineering services or products.
- Identifying and escalating business risks or opportunities related to the condition of engineered systems and structures, focusing on safety, regulatory compliance, quality, and reliability.
- Taking ownership of engineering challenges or opportunities. You will plan, manage, and collaborate to deliver effective and safe solutions that meet our commitments to society.
- Providing advice, guidance, progress reports, and supporting documentation to stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, Operations Management, Process Owners, Operators, Maintainers, and Occupants.
- Applying Maintenance & Reliability Principles as directed by planning and outputs from Failure Modes & Effects Analysis. You will analyze relevant metrics and contribute to Key Performance Indicators and other reporting as necessary, assisting in Reliability Centred Maintenance planning and conducting Root Cause Analysis.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in some or all of the following areas:
- C&I building services (including PLCs, BMS, HVAC, SCADA, HMIs, and analogue systems) and industrial processes, along with a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, supporting ACOP, best practices, and common industry standards.
- Experience in higher hazard or regulated industries (such as nuclear, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical sectors).
- Membership in an engineering institution and/or qualification as an Incorporated Engineer or equivalent.
- Previous experience in installation or maintenance roles may be beneficial, although this position is more aligned with consultancy services rather than hands-on technical tasks.
We welcome applications from individuals with a minimum qualification of L4 NQF (HNC) and relevant experience (a degree in an engineering discipline is desirable) who are eager to advance their careers in a company that offers outstanding training and development opportunities.
