About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Test and Inspect Engineer to join our team at Gov Facility Services Ltd (GFSL). As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of HMP Highpoint, a Category C male prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to maintain and inspect electrical systems and equipment
  • Conduct thorough tests and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Team to identify and resolve maintenance issues
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize system performance
  • Provide excellent communication and customer service skills to internal stakeholders
Requirements
  • At least five years of experience working as an electrician
  • Two years of experience working in a role as a test and inspection electrician or equivalent
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems and catering equipment
  • Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation)
  • C&G Electrical inspection and testing
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
